2011 has seen Hull and East Yorkshire Community Foundation take over the co-ordination of the Humber Business Week. It has been real privilege to work with such an experienced Steering Group, with our communication partner Eskimosoup and with so many businesses who want to promote the Humber as a great area in which to do business. Organisations from the private, public and voluntary sectors came together to present over 30 events in a week-long showcase of the best practice and opportunities the region has to offer. This culminated with a sparkling finale at the Yorkshire International Business Convention (YIBC) which this year had a "winners" theme. Inspirational speakers, fantastic networking and the unmistakable buzz of enthusiasm made Business Week 2011 the 'not to be missed' business opportunity of the year. Business Week 2011 came at a very exciting time with some tremendous opportunities for the Hull and Humber to become the heart of the European renewable industry. This is a theme strongly represented in the programme of events held this year and we have sent out the message to the rest of the world that the Humber is very much open for sustainable business.
